We’re hiring. One full-time junior designer, to start as soon as someone we like can start. The role is a mix of brand work, layout, and the occasional small website. We expect this person to learn quickly and have opinions, in that order.
The job is mostly in person. The studio is small — three desks, four if we squeeze, and we squeeze — and the work is the kind that benefits from being able to lean over and look at the same screen as someone else. We’re open to one day a week from home once you’ve been here a few months, more if we trust you with it. Fully remote isn’t something we can offer right now.
You don’t need a design degree, and we don’t care about your university. We do care about a portfolio, however small, that shows that you can finish things. Anything: a zine you made for a friend’s band, a wedding invitation, a school project — finished work tells us more than a Behance page full of mockups.
Pay is reasonable for a small studio in a small town. We won’t list a number publicly because we negotiate based on what you can actually do, but we’ll send you the range as soon as we’ve had a first conversation. We close at five, we don’t expect emails on weekends, and we close the studio for the week between Christmas and New Year.
