A small studio. A short list of clients.
Northbrook Studio was started in 2019 by people who got tired of pitching to brands they’d never use. We work with shops, restaurants, trades, and the occasional non-profit — businesses where the owner still answers the phone.
How we work
Most projects start with a coffee — in person if you’re local, on a call if you’re not — where we listen and try to figure out whether we’re actually a fit. We’d rather pass on a project than take on one we can’t do well.
When we do take a project, we work in short, focused chunks: usually two to four weeks, with one round of revisions, a clear scope, and a flat price. We send drafts as we go so nothing comes as a surprise at the end.
After we finish, we hand everything over — files, source documents, accounts — and you don’t need us anymore unless you want us. We’ve had clients come back five years later for something new, and we’ve had clients run their own site happily for years without hearing from us. Both are fine.

The team
There are three of us full-time, plus a small group of writers, developers, and tradespeople we bring in when a project calls for it. Between us we’ve worked on storefronts, identity systems, cookbooks, websites, packaging, and one very small museum.
If you want to know who specifically would work on your project, that’s a conversation we’re happy to have early.
